What stands behind DAI, measured, not quoted. Reserves are running sums of every join and exit recorded by each collateral adapter since November 2019; value and shares use daily closes measured from named Uniswap pools. Vault counts come from the CDP Manager’s NewCdp events.

Collateral types come from Maker's on-chain IlkRegistry: 35 listed at block 26,094,563, synced 2026-10-01 02:45 UTC, 0 retired types kept. The composition reads the gem-join and PSM classes; real-world assets, D3M lines, allocator lines and the staking engine hold no gem-join balance and are not in the ledger.

Reserves are cumulative sums of each adapter’s own log notes: join(address,uint256) / exit(address,uint256) for gem joins, join(address,uint256,address) for the PSM’s authorized join, and SellGem / BuyGem for the Lite PSM. The decoding reconciles exactly with independent ERC-20 transfer sums, and the retired PSM’s reserve closes at exactly zero.
